A warm and cozy 16th-century family home in an authentic style with a stunning view. Uniquely situated against an old rampart, this charming home offers you every comfort in a warm, tastefully decorated living environment. The house features original tile floors and exposed beams and is furnished in the Provençal style. Outside, you’ll find a charming little balcony with sweeping views of the Rhône Valley and impressive sunsets. There is a lovely, lush walled garden with a shaded terrace. Gigondas is a lively village, with restaurants and wine bars, surrounded by vineyards in a mountainous landscape—a paradise for hikers, climbers, and those seeking peace and quiet.
Nature and surroundings
A delightful and expansive hiking area—Exquisite wines and excellent restaurants—Plenty to discover from a comfortable cottage on the outskirts of a romantic village. Gigondas (Vaucluse) is a charming and endearing little town. Winding streets, a babbling fountain, and the village square shaded by plane trees. The village (population 600) lies at the foot of a vast and breathtaking mountainous region: the Dentelles de Montmirail, a hiker’s paradise. Mont Ventoux is about a 25-minute drive away. A little further afield are places like Gordes and St. Rémy de Provence, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Camargue. There are interesting cities to explore, such as Avignon, Orange, Arles, and Aix-en-Provence, as well as restored medieval villages like Séguret and Les Baroux. Vaison-la-Romaine and Carpentras host lively weekly markets featuring wonderful local products. The Mediterranean Sea is an hour and a half away by car. There’s also plenty to experience culturally.
