Would you like to completely unwind for a few days, with plenty of space and privacy? Then book our nature house, set in a unique setting. Our detached nature house is nestled in the heart of nature, with views across the meadows on a very spacious private lot, so you’ll have plenty of privacy. Inside our nature house, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet. There are two spacious box-spring beds, French doors, and two patios complete with plenty of comfortable furniture. You’ll wake up to the sounds of birds, a mooing cow, or the rustling of the wind through the trees. Grass carp and other fish swim in the spacious pond dotted with water lilies. We are an entrepreneurial couple with quiet professions. We place great value on maintaining peace and privacy. We live in an area surrounded by farms and villages and cannot be held responsible for ambient noise.
Nature and surroundings
We live outside the village center of Surhuisterveen, in Friesland. Our property is set back from the road and completely secluded, surrounded by nature and meadows. We’re surrounded by the ancient landscape of the Northern Frisian Woods, yet you can reach the village center—with its charming shops, restaurants, and four supermarkets—in just five minutes. Leeuwarden, Heerenveen, and Groningen are all within a 25-minute drive, as are the Drents Friesche Wold and the Lauwersmeer region. There are plenty of opportunities for walks and bike rides, or you can simply relax at the nature house on one of the patios or other lovely spots, with beautiful views and plenty of privacy. In Surhuisterveen, there’s an outdoor swimming pool called the Wettervlecke, and one village over is Lake Strandheem.

The cottage is a bit dark, and it gets very hot in the afternoon on hot days.
Het huisje is een beetje donker en het warmt op hete dagen in de middag erg op.
It was very quiet there, with very little ambient noise. The cottage was spacious and surrounded by greenery, with a beautiful garden and a view of the meadows behind it. There weren't many birds around this time.
Het was er heel rustig, weinig omgevingsgeluid. Het was er ruim en groen rond het huisje met een mooie tuin en uitzicht op de achterliggende weilanden. Deze keer weinig vogels in de buurt.

Only positive. The cottage is lovely, at the very back of the owners' garden. You sit in total privacy with a wide view of the surroundings. The cottage is fully equipped, and really very cozy. The hospitality of the owners made it all complete!
What a wonderful setting! Just peace, nature and privacy.
Wat een heerlijke omgeving! Alleen maar rust, natuur en privacy.
