This nature house is an 1850s farmhouse that served as a basket maker's workshop until the middle of the last century. We have completely restored it with our own hands. The usable area on the ground floor is about 60 m2. French doors give access to a spacious terrace with a flower garden. All around you have an unobstructed view of a landscaped garden bordered by trees. Behind it meanders a deep stream that reaches our yard via a waterfall. On 1 level is the mezzanine with double bed, shower and toilet. The decoration is somewhere between industrial and authentic: glass, steel, wood, concrete and natural stone. Cozy and tasteful we find ourselves (of course). No frills of Ikea, but a nice table, nice chairs, well-equipped kitchen cabinets and cooking utensils that are useful. Note: from your car it is a 50 m walk over a sloping lawn.
Nature and surroundings
The studio is on the outskirts of the village of Pierrefaites. You can hear the birds, the bees, the waterfall and the occasional chainsaw, grass cutter or tractor. It hills quite a bit here. The village still has a bakery but for real shopping you have to go to Fayl Billot which is four kilometers away. Nearby you will find sleeping towns like the fortified village of Langres (birthplace of Diderot) and Bourbonne les Bains (a spa). Dijon is an hour away, Vesoul forty-five minutes. Even a little further away is Ronchamp with Le Corbusier's Chapelle Notre-Dame du Haut - highly recommended. But you come here for your peace and quiet, for the flora and fauna: birds (the hoopoe!), frogs, salamanders, dragonflies, lizards, butterflies, the large wood bee (!), wild boars, deer, foxes, squirrels and badgers. Because you want to bike or hike alone or with a loved one, laze in a hammock, gaze at the stars, or read a book - or write one, that goes very well here too.

The waterfall was beautiful to see, unfortunately we have not been able to discover much around the house due to the many rain. Many flea markets seen, and le Corbusier is really worth a visit, also visited the glass factory. Of the walks offered, unfortunately only 2 could tick off due to the weather, but that is very well taken care of.
It was a lovely cottage, on the property of the owner who was not there herself. Modern decor, fully equipped, a nice kitchen island! A lovely wood stove, where we could get warm after a walk in the rain. Together with the beautiful record collection and a delicious wine (thanks for that) we enjoyed ourselves.
This text is automatically translated. -

Beautifully remodeled cottage in a little industrial, a little Amsterdam and a lot French way. Definitely not an average cottage with sofa, thick chairs, TV and Ikea trinkets, but different and basic
Very quiet - in the middle of nature and tucked away in a very quiet authentic village of Pierrefait

Fine cottage, simple and yet good. With fine furniture, atmosphere and appearance. Record player with good music, games and books made it pleasant for us.
A very nice place to unwind! Especially because of the vastness of the garden, the flowers and plants that grow and bloom there and the clatter of the waterfall nearby.
