Marielund is a beautiful house from 1876 with the charm of times gone by and the comfort of today. It has been furnished with great attention to detail. Here you can leave everyday life behind you. The house can be heated with an air heat pump and two open fireplaces. In the kitchen there is an old wood-burning stove for cooking, an electric stove with oven, a fridge/freezer and an extractor fan. For dining, there is a cozy sitting area in the kitchen, a dining room, another dining table in the living room and a covered terrace. In the bedroom you will find a chest of drawers, a closet and an open fireplace. We are happy to provide you with a crib free of charge. The bathroom (with window) was completely renovated in 2021. It has underfloor heating, a spacious shower, a washbasin, a toilet and a washing machine. A light-flooded conservatory invites you to linger.
Nature and surroundings
Our vacation home Marielund is located in a charming mixed forest environment in the Småland highlands. Here you can spend your vacation in idyllic and peaceful surroundings, surrounded by nature. Marielund is situated on a 4000 square meter natural property, with a small, private forest, without direct neighbors. The surrounding forests and beautiful hiking areas invite you to go for a walk, pick berries and mushrooms. The Norra Kvill National Park is only 22 km away. There are also lakes nearby that offer good fishing, beautiful bathing spots and unspoiled nature. The smaller municipality of Mariannelund is approx. 2 km away. There you will find a supermarket, a bakery, second-hand and antique stores, a pizzeria and a small movie theater. The towns of Vimmerby and Eksjö are worth a visit and the sea (Oskarshamn, Västervik) and the sunny island of Öland are also within easy reach. The villages of Bullerbü and Emil (Michel)'s cat's nest are particularly close by.
