Nature and surroundings
Our house is nestled in the heart of nature on 4,000 square meters of private wooded land. It’s not a park with amenities—it’s completely private and sheltered among the trees, with just 7 other private homes on plots of similar size. Parking is available on the property. A true bird paradise—the birds are bustling all day long, and in the spring, the birdhouses are well-filled. As soon as the sheep and their lambs appear in the adjacent pasture, the springtime feeling is complete. Even roe deer wander across the property here—so lovely! We’re right next to the vast German forest, which is wonderful for hiking. There’s plenty to do in and around Winterswijk, with countless outdoor cafes and great shopping. Here, you’ll still find friendly, down-to-earth people who care about one another. The beautiful bocage landscape is perfect for pleasant bike rides, there are regular cultural events, and there are lakes for recreation. A delightful nature house nestled in nature on a spacious private lot in a wooded area. The surroundings are very rural and peaceful, but there are also several villages within driving distance. The Winterswijk bocage landscape is beautiful, with plenty of roads and trails where cyclists can enjoy lovely bike rides, even into Germany. We were there during peak season, so the country road next to the property was a bit busier with vacationers (and the occasional tractor), but we suspect that outside of peak season, you might occasionally feel like you’re “alone in the world.” You do have to “share” the grounds with lots of little birds, which is an exceptionally enjoyable experience. You’ll naturally find yourself unwinding here.
