Discover the region of Westerwolde in eastern Groningen. It is here where in 1568 the battle of Heiligerlee was fought, the beginning of the 80-year war and the birth of the Netherlands. Here you can get away from all the hustle and bustle and back to yourself, time to think but meanwhile enjoying the simple outdoors, walking, eating and drinking and relaxing. Our house but especially the barn and garden are decorated according to the Swedish "Lagom" idea: not too much, not too little but just enough to make yourself comfortable. In our Pipi wagon (no typo) / stuga you can experience all this and also get the Swedish feeling. Adding a small tent is no problem. Simply furnished, no luxury: double bed, sitting area, kettle, senseo, el.stove, outdoor furniture. In and near the comfortable barn is an outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower (hot), BBQ, microwave, pool table and books, games and jigsaw puzzles.

The garden is private and is sandwiched between farmlands and forests 10 minutes by bike. A fine place for the peace-seeker, for stargazing, fishing, canoeing. For the artist looking for inspiration. For the explorer: at acceptable cycling and car distances are cities like Groningen and Bremen, zoos in Emmen and Nordhorn (D), nature reserves (Westerwolde, Dwingelderveld, Bourtanger Moor, Wadden Sea), historic monasteries, mansions and castles in the Netherlands and Germany. In the winter months it can be cold, then the wood stove in the barn is no luxury but it does like what.... hence the optional costs in the rates.
