Camp site 6 (La grande prairie): A large open area in the woods and near the river. It is quite a distance to walk (5 minutes) from the L'Ane house, but to bring your things you can get there by wheelbarrow (about 500 meters). The long distance is compensated by the fact that it is a beautiful place. There are some fairly horizontal spots. But a very small slant you have to accept. It is a "nature campground," not a perfect soccer field. A forest path runs across the site, but very few people pass by. A good pocket lantern to walk to the L'Ane house at night is really needed. There are a few other camping spots in Terre Rouge. The car can be parked in the bend of the street that runs through the village, or in the parking lot in front of the bridge.
Nature and surroundings
Nearby nature reserves, possibility of hiking, rafting, paragliding, hang gliding, mountain biking. In winter, a cross-country skiing area is 3 km away. For shopping, the town of Briançon is about 7 km away, in the village itself there are no stores. Nearby are some restaurants. In Terre Rouge for children there is only play by the river or in the forest, own games, or mountain biking and the like.
