Nature house in Wjelsryp

For birdwatchers, the Skrok birdwatching hut is within biking distance; it overlooks a shallow pond where we saw (and photographed) avocets, black-tailed godwits, and ruffs, among other birds.

Because it was a hot first day, we drove to Franeker, where we visited the Eisinga Planetarium and the Martena Museum and took a walking tour.

Voor liefhebbers van vogels is op fietsafstand vogelhut Skrok, dat uitkijkt op een ondiepe plas, waar we o.a. Kluten, Grutos en Kemphanen hebben gezien (en gefotografeerd).

Vanwege een hete eerste dag hebben wij met de auto Franeker bezocht, waar we het Eisinga Planetarium en Museum Martena hebben bezocht en een rondwandeling hebben gemaakt.

This former coach house is located next to Jenny and Fokke’s large farmhouse. The village of Wjelsryp is (like many villages in the area) small, with about 185 houses.
The area around Wjelsryp is very rural, green, and quiet.
The cottage itself is very comfortable, with air conditioning that cools and heats.
The kitchen is well-equipped, and the bathroom has a nice shower.
The bikes and the car are parked under cover behind the cottage, with a charging station for the bike batteries.

Dit voormalige koetshuis ligt naast de grote boerderij van Jenny en Fokke. Het dorp Wjelsryp is (net als vele dorpjes in de omgeving) klein met pl. 185 huizen.
De omgeving van Wjesryp is heel landelijk en heel groen en stil.
Het huisje zelf is zeer comfortabel, met een Airco die koelt en verwarmd.
De voorzieningen in de keuken zijn prima en de badkamer heeft een fijne douche.
de fietsen en de auto staan overdekt achter het huisje, met oplaadmogelijkheid voor de fiets batterijen.

A lovely, peaceful spot.

Since the bedroom is pretty cramped, the luggage rack is in the living room.
So there's not much storage space for clothes and such.

Omdat de slaapkamer vrij krap is staat het kofferrek in de woonkamer.
Dus weinig opbergruimte voor kleding ed

The cottage was located next to the owners' historic farmhouse. A nostalgic setting.
The cottage is cozy and inviting.

Het huisje stond naast de monumentale boerderij van de eigenaars. Nostalgische omgeving.
Huisje is gezellig en knus.
