Our vacation home is cozy and fully equipped. The house has a large private garden and from the living room upstairs and the terrace you have a beautiful view over the Heegermeer and the Fluessen. The house is built in the former stable and stands on the grounds of the small water sports campsite, Camping Flapper. You can moor your own boat or a rented boat in the harbor and use all the facilities of the campsite. Children have a great time. There is a small playground with a swing and a trampo, in the large barn there are two ping-pong tables and a table soccer, and of course there is plenty of swimming, surfing or sailing. And if you ever want to go out in a canoe and ours is available, you can just borrow it. This also applies to our tandem and optimist. The region has much fun to offer, see the site of VVV Waterland of Friesland.
Nature and surroundings
Gaastmeer is a bit of a public secret. It is a beautiful, small Frisian village where 2 cozy restaurants are open during the season. The village also has a convenience store where basically all daily groceries can be found. Through VVV Waterland of Friesland you can find all kinds of walking, cycling and sailing routes as well as the entertainment agenda of the region. Nearby is all kinds of things to rent such as sailboats and bicycles.

Een gezellig huisje met fijne bedden en mooi uitzicht op het water.
Nature, peace & environment:We were hospitably received by the owner of the campsite. We stayed in a fine nature house with a roof terrace. From the terrace we had a nice view of the water. The cottage had everything we needed. For our musical nature lovers, the piano was an extra nice addition. Our children (elementary school age) could regularly be found in the barn for a game of table tennis or outside on the trampoline. For groceries we went to the daily store which is within walking distance. In short, a nice place to unwind!
We werden gastvrij ontvangen door de eigenaresse van de camping. We verbleven in een fijn natuurhuisje met een dakterras. Vanuit het terras hadden we mooi uitzicht op het water.
Het huisje had alles wat we nodig hadden. Voor onze muzikale natuurliefhebbers was de piano een extra leuke toevoeging. Onze kinderen (basisschoolleeftijd) waren regelmatig te vinden in de schuur voor een potje tafeltennis of buiten op de trampoline.

Matthijs July 31, 2023 General rating:Bovenal, heerlijke vakantie gehad. Fijne, ontspannen sfeer op het campingterrein. Boven is het gezellig en sfeervol. Geweldig uitzicht. Beneden (waar de keuken en eettafel staat) is het vooral functioneel. Het nodigt niet zo uit om gezellig te koken en te eten of spelletjes spelen. Zou mooi zijn als de sfeer van boven daar doorgetrokken kan worden. We hadden best goed geslapen, maar de matrassen zakken wel door. mijn advies zou zijn die voor volgend seizoen te vervangen.
Nature, peace & environment:Vlak aan de Friese meren, aan het rand van het dorp. Je kijkt uit over de weidse graslanden en het meer.
