The Morvan is known for its many lakes and vast forests. The large and peaceful lake, lac de Pannecière, is fifteen minutes away. The cottage is simply but attractively furnished. It has a good stove which is especially needed in spring (we had a few nights of light frost). Behind the house is a nice bench with nice wide views. In bad weather you can sit in the conservatory so you are still kind of sitting outside. Besides a few walks we have also mainly enjoyed the peace. The area is characterized by extensive agriculture with many hedges, and also flowers (many wild orchid among others) in the roadsides but also here and there in the fields.
Het huisje is eenvoudig maar sfeervol ingericht. Het heeft een goede kachel wat zeker in het voorjaar nodig is (we hebben een paar nachten lichte vorst gehad). Achter het huis is een fijne bank met mooi weids uitzicht. Bij slecht weer kun je in de serre zitten waardoor je toch een soort van buiten zit. Naast enkele wandelingen hebben we ook vooral van de rust genoten.
Het gebied wordt gekenmerkt door extensieve landbouw met veel heggen, en ook bloemen (veel wilde orchidee onder andere) in de bermen maar ook her en der in de velden.Wonderfully quiet in spring, little traffic.
