Restored farmhouse converted into high-quality residential farmhouse with a 4-person guest apartment consisting of a kitchen, 1 bedroom with bathroom and 1 living/bedroom with bathroom. Large French doors in all rooms give unobstructed views over the meadows. One of the oldest head-neck-hull farms in Friesland (1631) on the waterfront. Guests intensely enjoy bird sounds and silence, regional plants and the wide view all around. The farmyard is surrounded by beautiful trees. On the horizon you can see an avenue of trees and the outline of the neighbor's farm. The farm has a unique location within cycling distance of Grou and near Leeuwarden. Here and there in the tastefully landscaped gardens are seats and loungers to enjoy the view and silence. A yard with fruit and nut trees completes the picture.
Nature and surroundings
Directly from the location you can bike, fish, sail, hike, row and swim. The cycle paths from the farm are part of the beloved Frisian cycle junction network. The picturesque village of Grou is located 6 minutes south of the farm. Grou has a cozy village center with a bakery, butcher, bookstore, brocante and boutiques. In the village are some good restaurants and eateries, some of which are right on the waterfront. In the village of Warten, 6 minutes north of the location are Ome Jan and *Oan table! If you come with your own sloop you can moor at the farm. A public trailer ramp is located 3.1 km from the farm. The Pikmeer and the beautiful nature reserve 'Alde Faenen' can be reached by water within half an hour. It Wikelslan, Kraanlannen, Einekoaien Lyts Geast and Ketelermar are nearby. Leeuwarden including the Fries Museum and Museum het Prinsessenhof is 20 car-minutes north of the farm.
