Nature house in Barcelonnette/Jausiers/Lans

The cottage is located in the valley of the Ubaye. From the village of Jausiers which lies on the river, you go up towards Nice, to the Col de la Bonnette (la plus haute d'Europe, 2802 mtr). With a number of hairpin turns you pass a number of vacation homes with cottages similar to ours. Then you pass the village of Lans. The road goes around it with a large curve, and down on the right you can already see the cottage. Where the guardrail ends, a small road, the CVO 2, Route de la Chalanette, goes down to the right. The chalet is completely free on an Alpine meadow of 3200 m2. At 1350 mtr altitude. It is a wooden house with a galvanized roof. Under the house a garage that we use as storage. On the balcony is great to sit, especially in the evening sun. In the neighborhood you can enjoy hiking. But also swimming, paragliding or rafting. Wonderfully relaxing. Enjoy the silence and tranquility. And at night an amazing starry sky.

We live on the border of the Mercantour National Park. A beautiful area. The Col de la Bonnette/Restefonds is the highest in Europe and loved by cyclists and motorcyclists. But Col d'Állos and Col de Larche (towards Italy, forts of the Maginot line) are also beautiful. Very beautiful is also St. Paul with Combre Brémond and Fouillouse. And/or the Col de Vars - eat cake in the Refuge Napoléon. In the house are hiking maps and several brochures with walks in the area. And the Michelin Green Guide French Alps South. Car trips to Nice, Briançon, Guillestre, Lac de Serre Poncon, Cuneo/Aosta/Turin are fun.
