The house was originally a fermette, or small farm, and then consisted of half living area and half barn. The barn has been surprisingly converted, with a large high loft, from floor to ridge, 4 bedrooms and a toilet, and the TV room on the ground floor. The old living area is a large cozy kitchen, fully equipped, such as a six-burner stove. And with a large dining table for 8 people, expandable to 10. Plus a wood stove, for when you come home from a long walk, and have set the CV low. Upstairs is another double room, a bathroom with bath and shower and toilet, and a second toilet in the hallway. And then there is a children's room, suitable for up to 6 people.Reached from outside there is the Appenti, an attached barn, containing the central heating boiler, washer and dryer, a second dishwasher, second refrigerator and second freezer, and a toilet and a shower. Altogether there are 3 showers and 5 toilets.
Nature and surroundings
Nature prevails in Nades. It is a small village (100-150 inhabitants) with no stores or pubs. But with huge forests and fields, and a river nearby (the Sioule) and a lake (at Servant - 5 km). Auvergne is about the size of the Netherlands, but with 10% of the population. So peace and quiet abound, the nights are still pitch black, with an impressively beautiful Milky Way, and the silence is deep. Except during the day, when there are the songbirds, despite the red kite flying high overhead. Game (deer, wild boar) pass the house at night, dogs smell it and bark when they come out in the evening.There are hiking trails, of course, mountain bike trails and beaches along the river, you can even walk in the treetops...And then there are 500 castles to visit, and provincial capitals such as Vichy and Clermont Ferrand, both about 50 km away.
