Nature house in Comblain au pont

The hot tub is wonderful, and the cottage and garden are very nice. We just found the kitchen supplies in the cottage to be a bit lacking. There are few pans and virtually no knives or cutting boards. The only frying pan in the cottage was terrible to cook with—we couldn’t even fry an egg… the blinds didn’t work properly; we couldn’t get the ones that were up to come down. The landlord tried to fix it when we arrived, but she couldn’t get them down either. So the kitchen supplies in the cottage are a bit lacking, which is a shame because the cottage itself is lovely!
There were towels provided, even though the landlord said there weren’t any. Communication with the landlord was a bit rocky, and when we left, she checked everything thoroughly while we walked along with her.

The cottage and the surroundings are beautiful. The furnishings in the cottage and communication with the landlord left something to be desired. But all in all, we had a nice stay!

De jacuzzi is heerlijk, het huisje en de tuin zijn heel fijn. Wij vonden alleen de spullen in het huisje wat matig. Er zijn weinig pannen en vrijwel geen messen of snijplanken. De enige koekenpan die aanwezig was in het huisje was vreselijk om in te bakken, zelfs een eitje lukte niet… de lamellen werkten niet goed, degene die omhoog waren gedaan kregen we niet naar beneden, de verhuurder deed het voor toen we aankwamen en ook haar lukte het niet. De spullen in het huisje zijn dus wat matig, wat zonde is want het huisje zelf is mooi!
Er waren wel handdoeken aanwezig, ondanks dat de verhuurder zei van niet. Het contact met de verhuurder liep stroef en toen we weg gingen controleerde ze alles grondig terwijl wij meeliepen.

Het huisje en de omgeving zelf is prachtig. De spullen in het huisje en het contact met de verhuurder minder. Maar we hebben een fijn verblijf gehad al met al!

The surroundings were beautiful. You’re right by a river, which made for a lovely sound of flowing water. You do have immediate neighbors, though, so if you want to get completely away from people, this cottage isn’t the right choice. We didn’t mind it, though. There are several beautiful hikes and caves in the area. You’ll need a car to get there, though. It felt to us as if we were far abroad, rather than just across the Dutch border :)

De omgeving was prachtig. Je zit aan een rivier, wat voor een heerlijk geluid van stromend water zorgde. Je hebt wel directe buren, dus als je helemaal weg wilt van mensen dan is dit huisje niet geschikt. Wij vonden het zelf niet erg. Er zijn meerdere mooie wandelingen en grotten in de omgeving. Hier moet je wel heen met de auto. Het voelde voor ons alsof we ver in het buitenland zaten, in plaats van net iver de Nederlandse grens :)

We will not come back here again. We did not get the entire deposit back because we had not separated the waste (it was nowhere stated how and there was 1 trash can) and because we had left a towel radiator on when we left. This while the landlord came by when we left and this radiator was immediately turned off. Furthermore, there are no towels available in the cottage (not mentioned anywhere) and the lighting is like in a hospital, not necessarily cozy. Do not go here, this is not worth your money.

Wij komen hier niet meer terug. Wij kregen niet de gehele borg terug omdat we het afval niet gescheiden hadden (er stond nergens hoe en er was 1 prullenbak) en omdat we een handdoekradiator aan hadden laten staan bij vertrek. Dit terwijl de verhuurder langs kwam bij ons vertrek en deze radiator dus meteen uitgezet werd. Deze stond dus helemaal niet lang aan.
Verder zijn er geen handdoeken beschikbaar in het huisje (staat nergens vermeld) en de verlichting is als in een ziekenhuis, niet perse knus. Ga hier niet heen, dit is je geld niet waard.

Nice view from the cottage, though along a busy road. Not really good hiking trails from the cottage, you have to take the car first.

Mooi uitzicht vanuit het huisje, wel langs een drukke weg. Niet echt goede wandelpaden vanuit het huisje, je moet dan eerst met de auto.

Wonderful, definitely worth repeating, highly recommended for couples.
