Delightful cottage, in the grounds of an old Rectory from 1840. The whole is fully equipped in a green oasis with swimming pool (April-September free to use ) and sauna in the garden (fee ). The pool is of course also used by us. The cottage is completely detached with a private terrace, adjacent to the pool, in a garden of 5000 m2, where you wake up to the sound of many birds and further silence. Bus stop at 1 km, and train station at 3 km. Parking is available in front of the Presbytery and is free. The cottage has a recently renovated shower room, there is air conditioning and of course a fully equipped kitchen, including electric stove, refrigerator, nespresso machine and oven. Beds and linen are of course provided. As hosts we are happy to receive all guests personally, but otherwise you have the kingdom all to yourself! For questions we are always available.
Nature and surroundings
The Rectory borders a fantastic nature reserve (Hurnse Kil) along the river Waal, where you can enjoy hiking, biking and relaxing in the floodplains. You can meet deer, badgers, beavers and all kinds of birds, if you know where to go and are willing to be on your feet even at very early moments of the day. In addition, visits to Zaltbommel and 's-Hertogenbosch are recommended. Several restaurants within walking/cycling distance and a supermarket at 2 km.

Lovely few days had in Hurwenen and hospitable received by the owner. The cottage is super nice and clean. Living room, neat bathroom, and a small but functional kitchenette on the ground floor and a great bed (1st floor).
The beautiful garden is green, enclosed by many trees. We were there in May, so lovely lots of bird twittering.
The sauna is in the garden and the pool and are shared with the owner. The pool forms a kind of separation between the part of the garden near the cottage and the rest of the garden near the big house.
Outside there is mutual view from the terrace to the terrace/garden/pool/sauna area at the cottage. It gave us a more limited sense of privacy in the garden. For us this was the only downside to this cottage. We otherwise enjoyed walking and cycling in the areaHeerlijke paar dagen gehad in Hurwenen en gastvrij ontvangen door de eigenaar. Het huisje is super leuk en schoon. Woonkamer, nette badkamer, en een klein, maar functioneel keukenblok op de begane grond en een prima bed (1ste etage).
De prachtige tuin is groen, omsloten door veel bomen. Wij waren er in mei, dus heerlijk veel vogel gekwetter.
De sauna bevindt zich in de tuin en het zwembad en worden gedeeld met de eigenaar. Het zwembad vormt een soort van afscheiding tussen het stukje tuin bij het huisje en de overige tuin bij het grote huis.
Buiten is er wederzijds zicht vanaf het terras naar het terras/tuin/zwembad/sauna gedeelte bij het huisje. Het gaf ons een beperkter gevoel van privacy in de tuin. Voor ons was dit het enige minpuntje bij dit huisje.
