Our house forms with about seven other houses the hamlet of Le Petit Moussu, near the village of Arquian, on top of a hill in the beautiful French countryside of Burgundy. After you drive through the gate into our grounds you come into the large garden with terrace and further on a high canopy overlooking the land of 4 hectares. It is an area with woods and walking paths. You enter the house at the spacious entrance room with wood stove. Through French doors you walk down the steps to the living room with nice sofas and a fireplace. You can walk through to the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with appliances, dishwasher and utensils to cook as extensive as you want. On the 1st floor are 2 spacious bedrooms with a total of 5 beds. Both on the 1st floor and on the ground floor are a bathroom and a (separate) toilet. In the field you can see deer just by opening the curtains. After 25 years of use as a family house, since last year we are now renting it out.
Nature and surroundings
The surroundings are an alternation of fields and forests in hilly terrain. You can take a beautiful 5 km walk through a valley across a riverbed and past a small village and horse farm back up. Or take the 2 bikes out and have a coffee at the Arquinoise, the local restaurant. Fairly nearby is the recently built castle of Guedelon, based on medieval models. Also nearby is the castle of St. Fargeau and Lac du Bourdon, where you can swim. 14 km away is Cosne-sur-Loire with a market on Wednesdays and Sundays. There are also several supermarkets here, including the Auchan, Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi and Action. From Cosne -sur-Loire you can take a bike ride to the wine town of Sancerre. A must for wine lovers, with a beautiful view from the hill of Sancerre on the Loire Valley. There are several brocantes, a recycling center, a golf course, go-kart track and a climbing forest nearby
