One of the highlights of the cottage is your own walled courtyard set within an ancient ruin. Surrounded by the scent of rosemary and sage, you’ll find yourself in complete privacy, shielded from the outside world. In the summer, you can hear the crickets; at sunset, the deer bellow; and after sunset, the owl hoots. The starry sky is breathtaking thanks to the minimal light pollution in the area. The Milky Way is clearly visible, as are shooting stars in August. The trees and vineyards are covered with lichens, a sign of the clean air. The estate includes a natural vineyard, and on the surrounding hills, the stone walls of centuries-old vineyards are still visible. There are thousands of kilometers of hiking trails starting from the house, ranging from small paths to “grandes randonnées,” and Cahors (7 km) lies on the Camino de Santiago.
