This nature house is a historic chapel completely modernized to contemporary luxury standards in 2022. The large open-plan sitting room (the original chapel) houses a historic baptismal font and is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There is a spacious corner sofa, underfloor heating, double-glazed windows and a cast-iron wood stove. The additional round table is ideal for games, puzzles and working from home. The open kitchen is the centerpiece of the house with 8-person dining table and includes an induction cooktop, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, coffee and tea makers, dishwasher, and washing machine. The large bedroom has a double bed (180x200cm). The smaller bedroom has two single beds (90x200cm) that can also be used as a double bed. The natural stone bathroom with walk-in shower has a view of the vineyard, next to it is a separate WC. Around the house are several terraces and dining areas, so you can always find the perfect spot in sunshine/shade.

The cottage is located on the private Domaine d'Al Chai, in the middle of nature next to a natural old vineyard with winery. On the surrounding hills the walls of remnants of ancient vineyards are still visible. La Chapelle is surrounded by several terraces with dining tables, grass and trees and an unobstructed view over the valley. You can hear the crickets in summer, the deer belling at sunset, and the owl calling after sunset. The starry sky is breathtaking because of the low light pollution in the area. The Milky Way can be seen beautifully, as can shooting stars in August. The trees and vineyards are covered in lichen as a sign of the clean air. There are thousands of miles of hiking trails from the house, from small paths to "grandes randonnees," and Cahors is on the route of Santiago de Compostella. With the historic town of Cahors with its centuries-old food market (Wednesdays& Saturdays) a 10-minute drive away, it combines the best of both worlds.
