Welcome to our farmstead in Appelscha, where we, Richard and Lycke, look forward to welcoming you. The B&B features a spacious living room with a kitchen, where you can cook in peace and unwind. Next to the living room is the bedroom, which has a double bed and a triple bunk bed, so there’s plenty of room even if you’re traveling with children. The bathroom, with a shower and toilet, is accessible through the bedroom. You can park in one of the two private spots right in front of the door. The farm is located on a main road and along the canal. Behind the farm, there’s a yard to explore: a petting zoo with a playground and trampoline, the tea house, a flower-picking garden, the vegetable garden, the cow pasture, and the chicken trailer. In our farm shop, “Onze Winkel,” you can pick up local products and fresh vegetables from the farmyard for your breakfast or dinner. Wi-Fi, heating, and air conditioning are available, and a crib and high chair are provided for your children.
Nature and surroundings
The Drents-Friese Wold National Park lies to the front, and the Fochteloerveen to the back. This means nature is truly right at your doorstep. You can go biking, hiking, or horseback riding here. Boats glide along the canal right in front of the farm. The village of Appelscha is 800 meters away, and the bus to Assen stops 700 meters away. There’s a children’s amusement park 2 kilometers away. The TT Circuit, Veenhuizen (home to the Prison Museum), and De Bonte Wever are easily accessible, as are Heerenveen, Drachten, Groningen, Assen, and Hoogeveen. In short, there’s plenty to do, but also plenty of space and tranquility in nature. We’d be happy to give you tips on beautiful routes.

Het was een net huisje waar we een goed verblijf hebben gehad. Goede bedden en sanitair. Fijne zitbanken om lekker op te chillen. Goede eettafel en stoelen. Verlichting was niet echt gezellig. Een schemerlamp hier een daar zou nog wel passen. Oven, magnetron en senseo aanwezig.
Rondom het huisje was weinig natuur. We zaten wel dicht aan de rand van Appelscha en nabij het Drents Friese Wold. Een prachtig natuur gebied met leuke restaurantjes aan een soort boulevard.
