Our chalet is in a wonderful green location in an oasis of tranquility with many amenities and trips within easy reach.The chalet in our yard is surrounded by greenery. It faces south with plenty of sunshine overlooking the horse pasture. Rabbits, hares, geese and pheasants and the croaking of frogs accompany you during a cup of coffee on the terrace or behind the glass in the bay window.The chalet is spacious enough for 2 people. There is also a kitchen, small bathroom with toilet and spacious bedroom with extra sink. The chalet is also equipped with wifi, television and a charging point for electric bicycles.The name The Black Horse is derived from the love of the Friesian horse. Het Zwarte Paard is very suitable for tourists who want to explore the Bommelerwaard by bike. How about winding dikes with the present shipping on the Waal that always provides entertainment. A stop at a restaurant for lunch or a cup of coffee, who doesn't want this?
Nature and surroundings
The Bommelerwaard, not above the rivers, not below the rivers, but in the middle of it. The Bommelerwaard is embraced by the meanders of Maas and Waal. Bommelerwaard is named after Zaltbommel, which was originally called Bommel and is still popularly called that, and waard = a region surrounded by watercourses, 'river island'. The name means 'worth of the inhabitants of (Zalt)Bommel'.Nearby are various excursions possible, the always lively Zaltbommel is just around the corner. Here you will find various catering establishments, the City Castle, city walks and cozy shopping streets.Slot Loevestein can be found in Poederoijen all within cycling distance of The Black Horse. There are several beautiful bicycle routes in the Bommelerwaard.Looking for more peace and quiet closer to the Black Horse, the Klompenpad hiking trail can be walked from the Black Horse. If you prefer to spot roe deer at dusk, a walk in the Lieskampen offers great opportunities.
