This cottage was formerly a ruin and in 2021 we converted it into a cozy apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a luxury kitchen (fully equipped) and living room with TV. Everything on the ground floor. The cottage has a private terrace with dining table and barbecue. From the terrace you have views of the hills in the hinterland and you look out over the newly planted garden, which is increasingly in bloom. We have preserved many authentic elements and the houses have been rebuilt in the old style wherever possible. All this in a rural, quiet environment and close to the sea. In winter and summer it is extra comfortable because we have underfloor heating, floor cooling and fans in all bedrooms. We find it important to use renewable energy wherever possible. For example, we use solar energy to obtain hot water and electricity. We also pump water from our own well.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located in a beautiful natural environment between the villages of Fuseta and Moncarapacho in the Eastern Algarve. You can find within a relatively short distance from the quinta very varied landscape types, such as; hills, steppe, beach, lagoon, forest, cliff, salt pan, marsh and estuary. There are many olive, almond and carob trees all around the quinta and it is teeming with birds, the most notable of which is the hoopoe. The Ria Formossa nature reserve is easily accessible by bicycle or car. (The Ria Formosa is one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal. The coastal area can be compared to the Dutch Wadden Sea. With an area of about 20,000 hectares, Ria Formosa is very extensive. As many as 1,500 different animal species live there and many native plants grow there. Furthermore, there are beautiful hikes in the area inland to the São Miguel up, or Cerro da Cabeça behind Moncarapacho. Faro (airport) is 20 drives away.

Het huisje voelt luxe aan, de bedden zijn prima. De badkamers zijn luxe en het douchen is heerlijk. De huisjes hebben een eigen waterbron, het water wordt gefilterd waardoor je het rechtstreeks uit de kraan kunt drinken. Mooi uitzicht op de tuin.
Nature, peace & environment:Het was er lekker rustig. De eigenaren hebben veel tijd gestoken in de tuin en in het creëren van beschutte plekjes. Er leeft een kameleon in de tuin! Vanuit de tuin kun je de zee zien.

Het huisje is schoon, lekkere douches en een fijn terras (waar we helaas alleen sochtends hebben gezeten, savonds werden we lekgestoken door de vele muggen). De tuin is mooi aangelegd en er zijn verschillende mooie dieren te bewonderen. De vele honden in de omgeving hoor je wel, maar is niet storend vonden wij. De materialen in het huisje zijn mooi en natuurlijk. Bij aankomst staat er een fles wijn klaar en een fles koud water. We werden van te voren geappt hoe laat we zouden arriveren. Bij aankomst warm ontvangen en een duidelijke uitleg over de praktische zaken. Tussendoor kwam 1 van de eigenaren nog even vragen hoe we het hadden. Al met al een lekkere plek om te verblijven, weg van het massatoerisme maar wel veel activiteiten om te doen of gewoon aan het strand te liggen, wat met de auto 8 minuten rijden is.
Nature, peace & environment:De tuin die de huisjes omringt is mooi, verder veel natuur in de omgeving.
