Nature and surroundings
Nature can still take its natural course here; rolling green hills, many (coniferous) forests, fields of flowers, rugged gorges (river gorges), beautiful valleys with grazing Charolais cows. Clear rivers, streams and (crater) lakes. And of course there is la Chaîne des Puys, the chain of volcanoes, of which our pride, the Puy-de-Dome is the most famous! This volcano that towers over everything is affectionately called "the Giant" by the Auvergnats.There are hundreds of hiking trails to be found, lots of marked trails, but also paths that lead into the woods or just a tractor trail between the meadows.
