This nature house is a vacation accommodation for 2 people overlooking the nature reserve "The Old Railway Berm", the ideal base for hikers and nature lovers. The accommodation is equipped with all comforts. The open kitchen is equipped with cooking and eating utensils, microwave, coffee machine (Nespresso), kettle, refrigerator with freezer and 4-burner stove. There is a pleasant sitting area with TV. Water and electricity, wifi, made beds and bath towels are included. You can use a bicycle storage room, parking and a private terrace. On arrival, a deposit of 100euros cash is requested.

Through the backyard you can take a walk through "The Old Railroad Berm," a natural area of nearly 20ha. The backbone of the area is formed by the old railroad line 25A. Line 25A was opened on 4april 1907 and ran from just outside Mechelen via Waarloos, Kontich, Edegem and Wilrijk to Antwerp-South, and on to the port of Antwerp. The line was decommissioned and broken up in 1970. On part of the old route is now the E19. South of Kontich to here at the Nete in Duffel, the old railroad bed has become a nature reserve. The nature reserve is characterized as an open landscape with beautiful views and a restful character, but also includes forests and meadows. Most of the railroad verge consists of thickets of various deciduous trees. Here and there remnants (pieces of old walls) of the railroad can still be found. The area is accessible year-round on trails. In wet periods, boots or sturdy hiking shoes are recommended.
