This attractive authentic house is completely detached and sunny. The house has recently been completely renovated with taste. It has downstairs a cozy sitting-dining room with Jotul wood stove. The kitchen consists of an electric 4-burner hob and oven, dishwasher and spacious fridge and freezer. The sanitary facilities (WC and shower) are located downstairs. The entire first floor has beautiful antique tiles. The upper floor gives access to 4 bedrooms, each with two beds (one room with bunk beds). Around the house in the garden there are three terraces: one covered terrace directly adjacent to the kitchen with cuisine d'été, a terrace under shady chestnut trees and a large, partially covered space in an old ruin with a wood-fired pizza oven and a long dining table. There are sunbeds, outdoor furniture and outdoor shower. The cottage is located in a mountainous and wooded area with beautiful views.
Nature and surroundings
The village of Vernoux-en-Vivarais is a typical French village with two bakeries, a large supermarket (Intermarché), butcher, several eateries and cozy terraces. There is a health center. On Thursdays there is a weekly market with local produce. The market in Lamaster on Tuesdays is also worth a visit. On the way to the village you pass the swimming lake (plan d'eau), with supervision in July and August. In the direct surroundings you will find special old villages (villages de caractère), such as Chalencon, Boffres and Desaignes, and several castles. The area around Vernoux offers numerous hiking possibilities. The valley of the river Eyrieux is worth mentioning: It contains not only several swimming spots, but also attractions such as Aquarock and the most beautiful cycling route in France along the old railroad line (80 km).The city of Valence, 30 km away, has Paris-like allure, cozy squares and parks, stores and restaurants. There is a modern and archaeological museum, and a special Armenian museum.
