As soon as you drive up the driveway you are embraced by beauty and peace which the trees and stones radiate. A Frisian forest house in a Norwegian landscape. After a shared entrance you have a cozy, snug little house for yourself, in which a spacious double bed (160cm-210cm), a closet and a fabric, 3-person sofa. Right around the corner, is a small kitchen with refrigerator, combination microwave, a filter coffee maker, kettle and a 1-pan electric stove. In the drawers are various pans, cutlery and crockery. Here is the dining area, where, as in a bird-watching hut, you can spy on the birds while eating. You will find here the entrance to a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Oldeholtpade is a small village surrounded by forest and meadow. In this quiet environment live many species of birds and other animals. Directly behind us is a small forest where you can have a nice walk. You can rent bikes at the beginning of the street, 100 meters from us. Our cottage is a perfect base for a beautiful walking, cycling and/or canoe trip on the Linde or through the Rottige Meente. Restaurant De Rustende Jager (for a delicious dinner) is within walking distance. Wolvega (4km) has a train station and contains all stores for the necessary groceries or for fun shopping. But also a visit to: Giethoorn, the Weerribben, the Lindevallei, De Eese, Colonies of Weldadigheid, Sneek, Grou, Joure, Bakkeveen, Appelscha, Drachten and Thialf, or visiting the Horse Racing in Wolvega can be done perfectly from our Bakkershuisje.
