Six colorful vacation cottages tucked away among lush, blooming bougainvillea, exotic palm trees, and sweet-smelling fruit trees. At our nature house—a former cork farm—you’ll be surrounded by an exuberant variety of flowers and plants. From this rural oasis, you can enjoy exploring the Algarve. Hiking, visiting picturesque towns, heading to the beach, or getting out into nature. Or how about some extensive shopping? The nature house is a former cork farm dating back to 1901, now used as a small-scale vacation rental. The property features six charming, spacious vacation cottages for 2 to 4 people. On the grounds is a beautiful garden with a courtyard, surrounded by a wide variety of plants, flowers, and fruit trees. The 12x7-meter swimming pool is surrounded by a sunbathing area with palm trees and is equipped with new lounge chairs and umbrellas. There is also a covered barbecue area for shared use. ** Air conditioning is optional and billed based on usage
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is situated in a quiet, natural setting, away from the crowds yet centrally located in the Algarve, and with all amenities within easy reach. Just 1.5 kilometers away is the charming town of São Brás de Alportel, with many restaurants, bars, a daily market, various shops, and four large supermarkets. Charming villages and towns, such as Tavira, Estoi, Olhão, Loulé, and Faro, are just a short distance away. Beautiful beaches are located 15–20 kilometers away. An ideal setting for sun worshippers and those seeking peace and quiet. Several beautiful hiking trails start right from the nature house. There are also many hiking opportunities in the surrounding area, such as in the Fonte Ferrea Nature Park (3 kilometers). Each cottage comes with a comprehensive guidebook featuring hiking trails in the area. Birdwatching is also one of the most popular activities both at and from the nature house. There’s a wide variety of birds to spot, including the hoopoe! Would you rather go road cycling or mountain biking? We’re located along a beautiful cycling route through the mountains!
