The cozy bungalow is located on the hill, a few passes away from the lake Lac de Veronne. We ourselves live across the lake. The lake is fed by the spring on our property and it is only accessible to our tenants, not to day trippers. Fishing is forbidden in the lake, but you can swim in it. We also have a sailboat and a rowboat that you may use. The house has a wood stove and electric heaters, a bathroom with bathtub and shower. Lots of nature around, beautiful hiking trails, also the GR runs nearby. But also the medieval bastide Monpazier (one of the most beautiful villages in France) is only 2 km away. Attention: there is no wifi, via 4G the reception is good.
Nature and surroundings
This spacious bungalow, part wood, part stone, is located in the south of the Dordogne. It is a very green area, with forests and valleys. But also with beautiful villages, old castles and of course the famous caves. We have a few hiking trails, you get them for free with maps. But you can also explore endlessly on your own: from the cottage you can pick up the GR, you can walk to the Chateau de Biron or wander through the forest of Bessede. Along the way you will undoubtedly encounter (traces) of deer, roe deer, wild boar and foxes. But you may also encounter a badger. And lots of birds, such as: hoopoe, woodpecker, owl, cattle egre and cormorants, birds of prey. Other animals you can encounter with us: our dog, a young Himalaika male, and we have a herd of horses and ponies with which we teach Clever Horsemanship. But you have to make an appointment for that (and is not free).
