This was a great place to unwind and enjoy The Frisian Lakes and nature. It was a warm welcome in a family home that carries history with it! Special was also the possibility to sail away directly from the house. In the little harbor adjacent to the house there are falcons for rent.

Dit was een geweldige plek om tot rust te komen en te genieten van De Friese Meren en de natuur. Het was een warm welkom in een familie huis dat geschiedenis met zich meebrengt! Speciaal was ook de mogelijkheid om direct vanuit het huis weg te zeilen. In het haventje dat grenst aan het huis zijn valkjes te huur.

The house inside has a beautiful and personal feel with plenty of space everywhere. In the well-stocked bookcase I found, among other things, "The sadness of Belgium", which I still had not read (but have at home): finally started it, lying in the hammock during the warm afternoon hours. Then the huge garden around the house (with the lovely shady spots under the trees) is great. From the jetty we could easily paddle our own sup-board right out onto the lake, go swimming and cast our fishing rods (pulled out several nice big ones). We had also brought our bikes, which we used for some nice bike rides. I'll say it again: we loved it!

Het huis binnen heeft een mooie en persoonlijke uitstraling met overal veel ruimte. In de goedgevulde boekenkast trof ik o.a. "Het verdriet van België" aan, wat ik nog steeds niet had gelezen (maar wel thuis heb liggen): daar eindelijk aan begonnen, heerlijk liggend in de hangmat tijdens de warme middaguurtjes. De enorme tuin rondom het huis (met de heerlijke schaduwplekjes onder de bomen) is dan ook geweldig. Vanaf de stijger konden we makkelijk met onze eigen sup-board zo het meer op peddelen, gaan zwemmen en onze vishengeltjes uitgooien (meerdere mooie grote exemplaren eruit gehaald). We hadden ook onze fietsen meegenomen, waarmee we mooie fietstochtjes hebben gemaakt. Ik zeg het maar nog een keer: We vonden het ZALIG!

This combination of the amount of peace, space and nature in the Netherlands is hard to match. In 1 word: BLESSING!

Deze combinatie van de hoeveelheid rust, ruimte en natuur in Nederland is moeilijk te evenaren. In 1 woord: ZALIG!

The cottage has a pleasant sitting area, and a fine kitchen and shower. The upstairs bedrooms are very fine for the children.

Het huisje heeft een prettige zithoek, en een prima keuken en douche. De slaapkamers boven zijn heel prima voor de kinderen.

We really enjoyed the beautiful garden, the view and the beautiful cottage. What a luxury to stay here for a week. We had a week of beautiful weather, so we were able to make full use of the space outside. Very nice to be able to enter the water from the jetty.

We hebben erg genoten van de schitterende tuin, het uitzicht en het mooie huisje. Wat een luxe om hier een week te verblijven. We hadden een week mooi weer, dus hebben de ruimte buiten ten volle kunnen benutten. Erg leuk om vanaf de steiger zo het water op te kunnen.
