Nature house in Sandfirden

Ivonne and Jurre are wonderful hosts who certainly have one of the most beautiful homes in Friesland. We really enjoyed our week there and would love to come back.

Ivonne und Jurre sind hervorragende Gastgeber, die hier sicherlich eines der schönsten Häuser in Friesland haben. Wir haben die Woche sehr genossen und würden sehr gerne wiederkommen.

What a wonderful house with a truly large garden right on the water. Inside the house, you’ll be charmed by the many stylish pieces of furniture, paintings, and other lovingly selected accessories. From a practical standpoint, the house is very well equipped; for example, we were surprised to find that there were even fans. In the garden, you can peacefully observe nature, discover new perspectives by moving around, or simply play bocce. We were able to launch our kayaks right from the dock and go for a morning swim from the garden—it was wonderful! We rounded out our days at the house with trips to picturesque villages in the region and bike rides around the lake.

Was für ein wundervolles Haus mit wirklich großem Garten direkt am Wasser. Im Haus wird man bezaubert durch die vielen stilvollen Möbel, Bilder und weitere liebevoll ausgesuchte Accessoires. Funktionell betrachtet ist das Haus sehr gut ausgestattet; wir waren beispielsweise überrascht, dass auch Ventilatoren da waren. Im Garten kann man in Ruhe die Natur beobachten, sich durch Platzwechsel immer neue Perspektiven eröffnen oder einfach Boule spielen. Wir konnten mit unseren Kajaks direkt vom Bootssteg aus starten und morgens vom Garten aus schwimmen; herrlich! Die Tage am Haus haben wir ergänzt durch Ausflüge zu sehenswerten Dörfern der Region und durch Radtouren um den See.

Heerlijk! De prijs waard. Je komt hier echt tot rust.

An incredibly charming and cozy vacation home. With plenty of space in and around the house. Located right on the water, with thick reed beds all around on that side, providing plenty of privacy. On the side of the garden, you can fish right from the dock. It’s so peaceful here—absolutely wonderful. A week of reading, fishing, barbecuing, and lounging in the hammock(s). Even though it wasn’t very warm (19 degrees), we spent the whole day outside. It was a bit windy, but you can find shelter from the wind everywhere—for example, right behind the reeds in the garden. You can rent boats from the neighbor, which is very convenient. All the windows have screens, so no mosquitoes inside. You can hear sheep and goats in the distance. And other than that, just silence. The cottage is very cozily furnished. From every room, you have beautiful views (without any distracting windmills). The master bedroom downstairs has French doors leading to a covered seating area where you can watch the sun rise over the meadows in the morning. The solar panels aren’t on the house but on the boathouse—which is nice.

Een ontzettend leuk en knus vakantiehuis. Met veel ruimte in en om het huis. Gelegen direct aan het water, met aan die kant dikke rietkragen rondom wat zorgt voor de nodige privacy. Aan de zijkant v.d. tuin kun is vanaf de steiger vissen. Wat een rust hier, heerlijk. Een week van lezen, vissen, bbq-en, luieren in de hangmat(ten). Ondanks dat het niet zo warm was (19 graden), waren we de hele dag buiten. Wel wat wind maar overal kun je de luwte opzoeken, bijv. vlak achter het riet in de tuin. Bootjes zijn bij de buurman te huur, erg handig. Alle ramen hebben horren, dus geen muggen in huis. Schaapjes en geitjes zijn te horen in de verte. En verder alleen maar stilte. Het huisje is erg gezellig ingericht. Vanuit elke kamer heb je prachtige uitzichten (zonder storende windmolens). De masterbedroom beneden heeft een openslaande deur met overkapt zitje vanwaar je de zon smorgens op ziet komen over de weilanden. Zonnepanelen niet op de woning maar op het boothuisje; prettig.

This was a great place to unwind and enjoy The Frisian Lakes and nature. It was a warm welcome in a family home that carries history with it! Special was also the possibility to sail away directly from the house. In the little harbor adjacent to the house there are falcons for rent.

Dit was een geweldige plek om tot rust te komen en te genieten van De Friese Meren en de natuur. Het was een warm welkom in een familie huis dat geschiedenis met zich meebrengt! Speciaal was ook de mogelijkheid om direct vanuit het huis weg te zeilen. In het haventje dat grenst aan het huis zijn valkjes te huur.
