Lievelde is located in Gelderland in the triangle Winterswijk, Groenlo, Lichtenvoorde, in one of the most beautiful places the Achterhoek has to offer. Surrounded by the green tranquility of vast forests, meadows and historic towns. Almost nowhere in the Netherlands is the variety of landscape so varied; forests, meadows, flower beds, streams, hedges, farms and castles form a beautiful coulisse landscape. The many peat bogs, the national landscape with its ash trees, wooded banks and raised bog provide many hiking and cycling pleasure. Near the recreation house, in the Schans, is the historic site the "English Schans". This played a major role in the "Battle of Grolle" in 1627. And several cycling and hiking routes start from the house and junction 33 is located next to the park. Mountain bikers and cyclists can also enjoy themselves here.
