Guests who stayed here find the surroundings fantastic for
Bird watching Cycling Hiking

Surprisingly spacious and fully equipped—that’s our tastefully decorated chalet, of which we’re especially proud! It sleeps 4 people and is tucked away among the trees behind our farmhouse, located in the hamlet of Ritsumasyl along the Van Harinxma Canal, across from the world’s first eco-friendly bicycle bridge. The living room offers a beautiful view of the meadows, and you can watch the boats glide by on the canal. You’re sure to sleep soundly on the made-up 160-cm-wide double bed, and for our younger guests, there’s a bunk bed where even adults can sleep comfortably. We have many pets around the farm: dogs, cats, chickens (fresh eggs for sale), geese, ducks, and, in the adjacent pasture, goats. There are plenty of books to read and Wi-Fi so you can relax with your laptop. Leeuwarden is about 3.5 km away and accessible by bike. A beautiful walking and biking trail runs right in front of our farm, along the Van Harinxma Canal.

Nature and surroundings

Words cannot describe it: the open space, the tranquility, and the beautiful view over the meadows and the Van Harinxma Canal, with the church tower of Deinum in the distance (Yn Deinum stiet in sipel op 'e toer). Boats passing by every day, the bicycle bridge opening and closing. This is Friesland—with its wide-open spaces, nature, and culture. But you can also enjoy the proximity to the city of Leeuwarden and the WTC, which is within biking distance.

Beautiful view and nice and quiet. You look out over a meadow, and animals occasionally wander around or pass by.
