Our cottage is in the hamlet of Faveyrolles, near Chassagnes, where the people interact in a nice way. We think our house is at least a hundred years old, maybe two hundred years. It was built with clay, stone and wooden beams. All the authentic elements can still be seen today. The wood stove in the living room ensures that it is never cold. But we only light it ourselves in the spring and fall. It is nice that there is a washing machine, so your laundry is clean again quickly. We also want to let you know that a five-burner gas stove was purchased in the summer of 2023! This is for the cooking enthusiasts among us! The neighbors are available for questions. The bed sizes are: bedroom 1: 1.4 x 2 m and bedroom 2: 1.6 x 2 m You must bring your own bed linen. Rental of bed linen is possible for a fee.
Nature and surroundings
You are completely in nature there, it is dead quiet, you only hear the birds and the crickets, even though we have neighbors on both sides. At night you can see 3000 stars because there is no false light. Nature is overwhelming, you can walk right into the forest and can easily take a one-hour round trip. It is great swimming in the river Allier. There are two possibilities: swimming in Chilhac (at the campsite) but is also allowed for people not staying at the campsite. Swimming in Brioude near the campsite. Here is also a terrace where you can have lunch or tapas. It is also a real experience to take a kayak tour. Then you are completely one with nature! Info and registration in Chilhac or Lavoute-Chilhac. Do this a few days in advance.

Mirella July 15, 2023 General rating:Het huis is een aangenaam sfeervol huis met tuin. Het is een zeer oud huis van naar zeggen misschien wel 200 jaar oud. Het is een karakteristiek huis met alle nodige moderne voorzieningen, volledig uitgeruste keuken en eenvoudig maar goede badkamer. Fijne bedden, goede douche, gezellig zitgedeelte beneden met eettafel. Buiten prettig omheinde tuin met tuintafel, 4 stoelen en grote parasol met gezellige gekleurde tuinverlichting.
Wanneer het buiten boven de 30°C is blijft het binnen heerlijk koel doordat de muren zo dik zijn. Wel belangrijk om te beseffen dat vanwege de oudheid van het huis de voordeur laag is waardoor je steeds moet bukken om niet je hoofd te stoten.
Alles bij elkaar, fijn vakantiehuis als uitvalsbasis naar vele prachtige locaties in de omgeving. Wij hebben genoten.Nature, peace & environment:Zeer mooi omgeving! Dichtbij het huisje mooie landelijke paden en bos waar je heerlijk de hond kunt uitlaten. In de verdere omgeving veel wandeltochten mogelijk in de weidse natuur. Er zijn prachtige dorpjes en stadjes en historische plekken om te bezoeken. En in de buurt mooie rivier (l'Allier) voor verkoeling, zwemmen, kanoën en raften.
