Our guest accommodation is an independent studio (36m2) in a recently renovated old farm building, with a bathroom (shower/WC/basin), an equipped kitchen area, Smart TV, free wifi, large double bed which can be converted for daytime usage. Copious continental breakfast included. Outside there's a 16m2 balcony and a private garden next to a stream. Help yourself to organic salads, herbs etc, from the raised-bed vegetable garden. A charming, authentic and peaceful location in the heart of the Morvan. 1 km from the village of Cussy-en-Morvan (café, restaurant) and 5km from the village of Anost (mini-supermarket, grocer, butcher, bakery, pizzeria, restuarant, garage, hotel, bar, newspaper shop, etc). 22km from the historic town of Autun. There are many walking routes from the studio, mainly in the surrounding forest.
Nature and surroundings
The Morvan Natural Parc is 5000 km2 rocky area making up the northern part of the Massif Central. It is mainly forested (with many industrial plantations of 'Douglas' fir) although there is some agriculture which is mainly the 'elevage' of Charolais beef cattle. The climate is quite hard – cold winters, windy and wet springs, hot dry summers, and rainy autumns. The hills rise to nearly 1000m and owing the high rainfall there are many streams, rivers and lakes. The largest of these, Lac des Settons is popular for bathing and water-sports (15 minute drive from Le Crot Noir). In recent decades the Morvan had become haven for those seeking alternative life styles, and there is a very strong revised tradition of folk music and dancing. The Morvan has reputedly the cleanest air in Europe and contains much unspoilt land and forest which makes the area ideal for walking and cycling.

Very nice authentic cottage with homemade furniture. Nice and cool too, which was nice on a midweek with temperatures over 30 degrees. You can use the speakers via bluetooth. Nice space around it. You are really private. We had camping chairs with us. This is nice if you stay longer in the house, because the indoor chairs can be a bit hard / uncomfortable. NB: we have due to poorly timed week hay fever little to do in the area, so the rest below not filled in. But there really is plenty to do.
Heel fijn authentiek huisje met zelfgemaakte meubelen. Lekker koel ook, wat fijn was bij een midweek met temperaturen boven de 30 graden. Je kunt via bluetooth gebruik maken van de boxen. Fijne ruimte erom heen. Je zit echt privé. Elke ochtend kregen we lekker ontbijt.
Wij hadden campingstoelen bij ons. Dat is wel fijn als je langere tijd in het huis verblijft, omdat de aanwezige binnenstoelen wat hard/ongemakkelijk kunnen zijn.
NB: we hebben ivm slecht getimed weekje hooikoorts weinig kunnen doen in omgeving, daarom de rest hieronder niet ingevul. Maar er is echt genoeg te doen.Beautiful green surroundings with rolling hills. Cheerfully twittering sparrows everywhere, otherwise very quiet. We found it a very nice place. We were there at the end of May.
