Nature house in Nohen

We had a wonderful time. Nice little cottage, and it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. It’s really a cottage for two people. There weren’t many glasses. There were no spatulas or meat knives. The oven works well, but it’s old. The ceramic cooktop didn’t have much capacity. The bedroom is spacious. We slept very well. The bed is firm, though, and the pillows are soft. That’s a matter of personal preference—the pillow was fine for me, but my husband needed a different one. The bedroom is very bright, and you can see right into it from the hallway, despite the wicker roll-up blind. But since it was just the two of us, that wasn’t a problem.
There are two stools by the kitchen table for seating. I noticed that three of the windows lacked screens.
It’s a cool place. The shower is fantastic. The location is wonderful. Very friendly host. Aside from the minor points mentioned, it’s a beautiful vacation home with plenty of privacy around the property. Highly recommended for peace, space, and nature.

We hebben het heerlijk gehad. Leuk huisje en het gevoel dat je in de middle of nowhere zat. Het is echt een huisje voor 2 personen. Kwa glazen was het wat karig. Spatels en vleesmessen waren er niet. De oven werkt goed, maar oud. De keramische plaat had weinig capaciteit. De slaapkamer is groot. We hebben heerlijk geslapen. Bed is wel hard en kussens zacht. Dat is een persoonlijk item, voor mij was het kussen prima, maar mijn man had een ander kussen nodig. Het is erg licht in de slaapkamer en je kunt vanuit de gang goed de slaapkamer inkijken, ondanks de rieten rolmat. Maar daar waren we met ons 2en, dus dat is geen probleem.
Bij de tafel in de keuken staan 2 krukjes waarmee je aan tafel zit. Ik miste bij 3 ramen een hor.
Het is een koele woning. De douche is fantastisch. De locatie is heerlijk. Erg vriendelijke verhuurster. Op de genoemde kleine puntjes na een pracht vakantiewoning met heel veel privacy om de woning heen. Een aanrader voor rust ruimte en natuur.

A wonderful spot surrounded by nature, yet still close to the village. We saw a fox come by to say hello while we were having coffee on the patio, and a roe deer walking through the garden. And lots of different kinds of birds.
There are plenty of shops in Birkenfeld, just a 10-minute drive away.

Heerlijk midden in de natuur en evengoed bij het dorp. We zagen een vos die bij ons kwam buurten tijdens de koffie op het terras en een ree die in de tuin liep. En veel soorten vogels.
Veel winkels op 10 minuten rijden in Birkenfeld.

It’s quiet at the end of town. The garden is tiered and ends at a small river. Most water was gone because of drought. We felt so much at home and at ease.

It was simply perfect.

The cottage has been recently renovated and is spotless. The bed is fantastic, and so is the kitchen. It even has a fully functional oven. In the photos, it looks like you have the cottage all to yourself, but the owner lives upstairs. There’s plenty of privacy, though, and no noise from each other. Highly recommended—I’d love to come back here!! Be sure to bring groceries with you—there’s no supermarket in the village.

Het huisje is nieuw gerenoveerd en brandschoon. Het bed is fantastisch en de keuken ook. Zelfs een goed werkende oven. Op de fotos lijkt het alsof je het huisje voor jezelf hebt, maar eigenaar woont erboven. Wel veel privacy en geen geluidsoverlast van elkaar. Enorme aanrader, kom hier graag terug!! Neem wel boodschappen mee, er is geen supermarkt in het dorp.

Views of lots of greenery; the village is very quiet, and there’s a beautiful nature trail nearby. There’s also a nature park nearby.

Uitzicht op heel veel groen, dorpje is heel erg rustig en mooie natuurwandeling in de buurt. Ook natuurpark in de buurt.
