Nature house in Cielle

We had a nice week and the hosts were accessible. Issues such as a wasp's nest on the terrace were quickly addressed. At the same time, the stay felt to us a bit austere and less warm than we are used to from nature houses in this price range. Upon arrival, the door appeared to be unlocked and the key was on the table inside. We had let us know in advance the approximate time we would arrive, but there was no further explanation of the arrival procedure. A small personal welcome, a card or a brief explanation would have made a big difference. In addition, we missed practical and attractive details that you would expect at this price. Things like kitchen linen, sufficient toilet paper, toilet roll holders, hooks in the kitchen and night lights by each bed. The terrace light did not work during our stay and was not fixed. All in all, a nice location with potential, but for this price we expected just a little more attention, atmosphere and comfort.

We hebben een fijne week gehad en de gastheer/gastvrouw waren bereikbaar. Zaken zoals een wespennest op het terras werden snel opgepakt.

Tegelijkertijd voelde het verblijf voor ons wat sober en minder warm aan dan we gewend zijn van natuurhuisjes in deze prijsklasse. Bij aankomst bleek de deur niet op slot te zitten en lag de sleutel binnen op tafel. We hadden vooraf laten weten hoe laat we ongeveer zouden arriveren, maar er was verder geen uitleg gegeven over de aankomstprocedure. Een klein persoonlijk welkom, een kaartje of een korte toelichting had hierin al veel verschil gemaakt.

Daarnaast misten we praktische en sfeervolle details die je bij deze prijs wel verwacht. Zaken zoals keukenlinnen, voldoende toiletpapier, wc-rolhouders, haakjes in de keuken en nachtlampjes bij ieder bed. Het terraslicht werkte tijdens ons verblijf niet en werd niet meer hersteld.

Al met al een mooie locatie met potentie, maar voor deze prijs hadden we net wat meer aandacht, sfeer en comfort verwacht.

The peace, space and nature around the cottage we give 4 stars. The cottage is located on a cul-de-sac, near the forest, so you really get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the terrace you have a beautiful view and in the evening we could use binoculars to discover deer at the edge of the forest, a special moment. Adjacent to the garden is a meadow where cows walk every day, which created a lively and rural atmosphere with occasional funny scenes of cows frolicking. Cielle itself is a small and quiet village with few amenities. For shopping or a restaurant you have to go to La Roche-en-Ardenne. The garden is spacious. Good to know that the house next to this residence seems to be undergoing renovation. During our stay there was no work going on, but there were already excavators and equipment.

De rust, ruimte en natuur rondom het huisje geven wij 4 sterren. Het huisje ligt aan een doodlopende weg, vlak bij het bos, waardoor je echt even loskomt van de drukte van alledag. Vanaf het terras heb je een mooi uitzicht en in de avond konden we met een verrekijker herten ontdekken aan de bosrand, een bijzonder moment.

Grenzend aan de tuin ligt een weiland waar dagelijks koeien lopen, wat zorgde voor een levendige en landelijke sfeer met af en toe grappige taferelen van stoeiende koeien.

Cielle zelf is een klein en rustig dorpje met weinig voorzieningen. Voor boodschappen of een restaurant ben je aangewezen op La Roche-en-Ardenne. De omgeving leent zich wel prachtig voor wandelingen en uitstapjes in de natuur.

De tuin is ruim opgezet. Wel goed om te weten dat het huis naast dit verblijf verbouwd lijkt te gaan worden. Tijdens ons verblijf werd er niet gewerkt, maar er stonden al wel graafmachines en materiaal.

Cottage is on the edge of a village. Not in the middle of nature, but bird sounds all around. owner friendly.

Huisje ligt aan de rand van een dorpje. Niet midden in de natuur, wel vogelgeluid alom.

If I understood the concept correctly, a nature house should be consistent with terms such as ecology and sustainability. I didn't notice any of that in the house we stayed in.

Als ik het concept goed begrepen heb, zou een natuurhuisje moeten aansluiten bij termen als ecologie en duurzaamheid. Daar heb ik niets van gemerkt in het huis waarin wij verbleven.

All peace and quiet was there, both inside and outside. Hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity!

Alle rust was er, zowel binnen als buiten. Wandelmogelijkheden in de onmiddellijke omgeving!
