Experience Burgundy from our gîte, located on the edge of the Morvan Natural Park in the town of Lucenay-L'Evêque, about 20 km from Autun and Saulieu and 65 km from Beaune. This Nature House is one of two gîtes located on the property of our Villa ; a maison de maître with walled garden and outbuildings dating from the 19th century and renovated to contemporary standards. The walled garden makes the stay very pleasant and relaxed. The beautiful garden with swimming pool (June-August) is freely accessible to the tenants of the gîtes. Garden furniture, climbing frame with swings and a BBQ are available. The gîte accommodates 2 persons. WIFI is available in the gîte and in the garden. You can 'stream' to the smart TV in the gîte via your mobile phone or laptop. At the Villa you will find a charging point for your electric car (Wallbox) and bicycle. Parking is available right next to our property (always space).
Nature and surroundings
The village of Lucenay-L'Evêque has a supermarket and hot bakery (500m), pharmacy, restaurant, cafeteria, florist and hairdresser (1km), among other things. There are also some stores, including brocante, leather goods and old games. You can buy fresh produce in season on Tuesday afternoon in the market square. Saturday and Tuesday evening there is a pizza food truck on the market square.Villa Mortaise is easily accessible and is located on the D980, about 20 km north of Autun and 20 km south of Saulieu. Behind our property runs a small river, the 'Ternin', where there is a picnic table. Directly across the little footbridge begins the natural park 'Morvan'. The area is very suitable for cycling and hiking. This nature house is also a good base for touring, e.g. by motorcycle or oldtimer. Surrounding villages and towns have regular day and fresh markets. Autun, Chalon-sur Saône, Dijon and Beaune, among others, offer cultural and gastronomic highlights for a nice day trip.
