Simply furnished, cozy nature house with lots of light bringing skylights. In the middle of the hills, forests and moors of Groesbeek near Nijmegen. For those with an affinity for spirituality (the house is owned by Pallasia, a publisher of spiritual books). Large, beautiful garden (900 m) with height differences and with 7 seats (1 fire pit) so you can change places with the sun and have an ever-changing view of the plants, the flowers and the animals that visit the feeding spots: more than 20 species of birds, hedgehogs, mice, squirrels, frogs, etc. Under the shelter of the gazebo you can sit outside even in less weather. Bring with you: (bath) towels, tea towels, washcloths. High chair (free) on request. Compact kitchen with basic kitchenware (list on request), compact toilet and compact bath with shower in it. Beds are made. DVD-CD player available. Bedroom with closet, sink and mirrors. Bicycle storage available. Washing machine available.
Nature and surroundings
The house is located in the wooded hills of Groesbeek, 100 meters away the heath begins. Those hills are part of a vast moraine complex that continues far into neighboring Germany (7 km away). On the edge of the lateral moraine the forests change into an agricultural landscape interspersed with nature reserves such as De Bruuk, the Ooy and (in Germany) the Düffelt. The moraines form the boundary of the Gelderse Poort, the place where eighty thousand years ago the Rhine managed to work its way westward through. The Gelderse Poort (with the Ooy and the Düffelt as its core) is a river polder landscape characterized by dikes, wheels, nature reserves, old farms, narrow country roads and beautiful views of the river and the clouds in the sky. The Rijk van Nijmegen (because that is what we are talking about) is an area with a great variety of landscapes, inviting you to get to know it on foot or by bike.
