We had the lower part of the chalet, which is not obvious when you book it. Because this is more or less in the ground it is dark and a bit clammy. Now we had nice weather and were outside a lot but with bad weather it is a gloomy and dark cottage.

We hadden het onderste gedeelte van het chalet, wat niet duidelijk is als je het boekt. Doordat dit min of meer in de grond zit is het donker en beetje klammig. Nu hadden we mooi weer en waren we veel buiten maar met slecht weer is het een somber en donker huisje.

The cottage is located on landscaped grounds with nice seating areas and some play facilities for children. The ground floor cottage itself is enclosed on the side and back by a hill. It therefore looks a bit like a cave. With only and not very large window on the north side all the lights had to be on all day. Minus that some of the lights are old-fashioned light bulbs. Since the weather was chilly, the heater also had to be on to be comfortable. Minus point was that the hood above the stove did blow the cooking air into the living room with a lot of noise. Our CO2 meter started beeping because the CO2 level in the room was dangerously high while cooking. Plus point: We slept very well because the beds were good and it was nice and dark, fresh and quiet.

Het huisje ligt op een mooi aangelegd terrein met leuke zitjes en wat speelvoorzieningen voor kinderen. Het beganegrond-huisje zelf is aan de zij- en achterkant ingesloten door een heuvel. Het lijkt daarom wel een beetje op een grot. Met alleen en niet heel groot raam aan de noordkant moest de hele dag alle verlichting aan. Minpunt dat een deel van de lampen ouderwetse gloeilampen zijn. Omdat het kil weer was moest ook de verwarming aan om het aangenaam te hebben. Minpunt was dat de afzuigkap boven het fornuis wel de kooklucht met veel kabaal de woonkamer in blies. Onze CO2 meter ging piepen omdat de CO2 waarde in de kamer gevaarlijk hoog was tijdens het koken. Pluspunt: We hebben heel goed geslapen omdat de bedden goed waren en het lekker donker, fris en stil was.

The environment exuded tranquility. From the cottage starts a panoramic circular walk. Truly breathtaking views. Many height differences, so walking was tough. We have several beautiful walks with starting points in the immediate vicinity. At each walk also seen deer and / or roe deer in the wild. A trip to Prüm and a visit to the Sculpture Park of family Krufft in Niederprüm was really special.

De omgeving straalde rust uit. Vanuit het huisje start een panorama rondwandeling. Werkelijk adembenemende uitzichten. Veel hoogteverschillen, dus wandelen was wel pittig. We hebben verschillende mooie wandelingen gemaakt met startpunten in de directe omgeving. Bij elke wandeling ook herten en/of reeën in het wild gezien. Een uitstapje naar Prüm en een bezoek aan het Sculpturenpark van familie Krufft in Niederprüm was echt bijzonder.
