In a word: fantastic! The cottage, the surroundings—I really enjoyed it and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Comfortable beds, a great shower, fresh eggs for breakfast, coffee, tea, a well-stocked cupboard, and a full fridge upon arrival, candles on the porch… you feel very welcome, and if you need anything, David and Henny are always willing to help. And when we left, they gave us dahlias from their own garden. There’s also a great bakery a 5-minute walk away where you can have a really good breakfast. And the butcher shop is right next door. Edeka is a bit further away but still within easy walking distance. As for activities, we didn’t do much in the immediate neighborhood—we could have, but we mostly explored the surrounding region. We visited small towns, caught up with friends, and spent an afternoon at the beach in Dangast.

Fijne bedden, prima douche, verse eitjes bij het ontbijt, koffie, thee, goed gevulde servieskast en een gevulde koelkast bij aankomst, kaarsjes op de veranda… je voelt je heel welkom en als er iets is zIjn David en Henny altijd bereid om te helpen. En bij het vertrek hebben we dahlia‘s uit eigen tuin meegekregen. Verder is er een prima bakker op 5min loopafstand waar je heel goed kunt ontbijten. En de slager ligt er naast. Edeka is iets verder lopen maar goed te doen. Qua activiteiten hebben we in de buurt niet veel ondernomen, dat kon wel maar we zijn vooral op pad geweest in de regio. Stadjes bezocht, vrienden opgezocht en middagje strand gedaan in Dangast.

It felt like an oasis of peace. There were several seating areas where you could sit in the sun or in the shade, whichever you preferred. A beautiful garden (with a hammock :), the goats, fresh eggs from the chickens, and vegetables from the garden that you could harvest yourself (with permission)… everything exuded tranquility and, above all, a lot of care and love. The cottage itself, too. It is indeed a “Tiny house,” but there’s plenty of outdoor space (with a heat lamp if needed). The railroad tracks run right past the property—you can hear them, but you get used to it quickly, and it actually has its own charm. It didn’t bother us at all. And the starry sky… Wow!

Het voelde als een oase van rust. Verschillende zitjes waardoor je in de zon of in de schaduw kon zitten als je dat wilde. Prachtige tuin (met een hangmat :), de geitjes, verse eieren van de kippen en groenten uit de moestuin die je (in overleg) zelf kon oogsten… alles straalde rust en vooral veel aandacht en liefde uit. Ook het huisje zelf. Het is idd een „tiny house“ maar er is genoeg buitenruimte (met warmtelamp zo nodig). Het spoor loopt langs het erf en dat hoor je maar het went snel en heeft ook z‘n charme. Voor ons was het niet storend. En de sterrenhemel…. Wow!

How much we enjoyed! Cycled one day in the immediate area with rented bikes from the village. One day hiking in the beautiful nearby Neuenburger Urwald and one day doing nothing at all and enjoying the cottage and grounds. The cottage is small but has everything we needed, and the grounds more than make up for any lack of space: lying in the grass, eating with a view of the neighbor's cows, feeding the goats and having breakfast with eggs. Henny & David: thank you!

Wat hebben wij genoten! Een dag in de directe omgeving gefietst met gehuurde fietsen uit de dorp. Een dag gewandeld in het prachtige nabijgelegen Neuenburger Urwald en een dag helemaal niks gedaan en genoten van het huisje en het terrein. Het huisje is klein, maar heeft alles wat we nodig hadden, en het terrein maakt eventueel ruimtegebrek ruimschoots goed: liggen in het gras, eten met uitzicht op de koeien van de buurman, eten geven aan de geitjes en ontbijten met eitjes.
