Nature and surroundings

The nature house is located on the edge of the dune area, just a 5-minute drive from the beach. It takes about 20 minutes to get there by bike—or on foot, if you want to explore the area at a leisurely pace. Enjoy the beautiful dunes, Castricum Beach, and the charming beach pavilions. Egmond aan Zee and Bergen aan Zee are also a short distance away—perfect for a day trip. Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Alkmaar are all easily accessible by car or public transportation. The Castricum train station is nearby, and in the town center you’ll find a covered shopping center with a supermarket, charming boutiques, restaurants, and outdoor cafes. From the living room, you look out over the meadows—a view that never gets old, especially in the summer when the cows graze peacefully outside.
