A beautifully decorated cottage—not at all old-fashioned like you often see in the Ardennes, quite the opposite. We were unlucky enough to experience a power outage, so we contacted the owner, who immediately took steps to assist us. It turned out to be a faulty digital meter, and the issue was resolved within two hours.
The location was perfect for us, with plenty of nature and a few nearby villages where we could check out a small market and enjoy a drink on a terrace.
Finally, I’d like to mention that the beds are of very high quality, which is something we really value and truly appreciated.
The only minor criticism is the yard—so much space and no grass, just wood chips near the swing. If we ever go to the Ardennes with our grandchildren in the future, that will be a bit of a letdown.
But the cottage itself is definitely worth recommending.

Prachtig ingericht huisje, niet oubollig zoals je vaak ziet in de ardennen, wel integendeel. We hadden pech dat we te maken kregen met een elektriciteitspanne, we contacteerden de eigenaar die onmiddellijk stappen ondernam om ons bij te staan. Het bleek om een defecte digitale teller te gaan en binnen de twee uur was dit opgelost.
Ligging voor ons perfect, met heel veel natuur en enkele dorpjes in de buurt waar we een marktje konden meepikken en een terrasje konden doen.
Als laatste wil ik nog meegeven dat de bedden van zeer goeie kwaliteit zijn, wat wij echt wel belangrijk vinden en zeer wisten te appreciëren.
Enig puntje van kritiek is de tuin, zoveel plaats en geen gras, maar hakseling bij de schommel. Wanneer we in de toekomst met de kleinkinderen naar de ardennen trekken is dat een afknapper.
Maar het huisje zelf is zeker een aanrader.

It was such a shame that all the open space around the house was paved! A large part was tiled, and the rest was gravel. Such a waste—all the greenery had been removed. This isn’t what you’d expect from a nature house.
And because it was very hot, all that stone really raised the temperature, making it absolutely impossible to sit outside. There was also no greenery or trees to provide shade.
Inside, the house was fine in terms of size and layout.
There was air conditioning, but it had a lot of issues (it kept turning off).
Trash had to be put in special bags that weren’t available at every supermarket. It would have been nice if there had been information on where to buy these bags. Furthermore, the full trash bags had to be placed in a bin in front of the house. In the 12 days we were there, they weren’t picked up! You could definitely smell it!
Also, the dishwasher was almost unusable because the door is so warped that you can’t close it. Only with a lot of pressure and endless trying can you sometimes get it to close and work.

Heel erg jammer dat alle grote ruimte rond het huis steen was! Een groot deel betegeld en de rest grind.Zo zonde, alle groen was weggehaald. Dit is niet wat je verwacht van een natuurhuisje.
En omdat het erg warm was, verhoogde al dat steen de temperatuur flink en kon je absoluut niet buiten zitten. Ook was er geen groen/ bomen die schaduw gaven.
Het huis binnen was prima qua grootte en inrichting.
Er was airco en die had wel veel kuren( sloeg steeds af)
Afval moest in speciale zakken die niet in elke supermarkt te krijgen waren. Was fijn geweest als de informatie aanwezig was waar je deze zakken kan kopen.Verder moesten de volle afvalzakken in een bak voor het huis.In de 12 dagen dat we er waren zijn deze niet opgehaald! Dat rook je wel!
Verder was de afwasmachine bijna niet werkbaar omdat de deur zo verbogen is dat je hem niet dicht krijgt.Alleen met veel druk en eindeloos proberen lukt het soms m dicht & werkend te krijgen.

It was extremely hot when we were there, so everyone stayed inside. You didn't see anyone outside. You could hear a lot of dogs barking, and cars frequently drove very fast down the road in front of the cottage (in the middle of the forest).

Het was extreem warm toen wij er waren, dus iedereen bleef binnen.Buiten zag je geen mensen. Wel hoorde je veel blaffende honden.En de weg voor het huisje( midden in het bos) werd frequent heel hard gereden door auto's

Where there's good, there's always a bit of bad. It's no longer possible to reserve linens a week in advance. So if you don't reserve them right when you make your booking, you won't be able to do so later. Also: The broken air conditioning in several rooms is a problem that others have already mentioned. Finally: there’s no Netflix. Following the user manual didn’t work, and calling didn’t help either.

Where there's good, there's always a bit of bad. Een week van tevoren is het niet meer mogelijk om beddegoed te boeken. Als je bij je boeking niet meteen beddegoed boekt, lukt het dus niet meer. Verder: De defecte airco in meerdere kamers is een probleem waar anderen ook al over hebben geschreven. Tot slot: er is geen Netflix. Het volgen van de gebruiksaanwijzing liep op niets uit, bellen hielp ook niet.

Lovely surroundings, very peaceful, a beautiful cottage both inside and out. We agree with the many positives that previous guests have already mentioned. Good to know: there’s a Nespresso coffee machine. The local bakery is fantastic. You can enjoy excellent dining options to your heart’s content in Durbuy, among other places. Recommendation: go mountain biking on an e-mountain bike that you can rent nearby—you’ll be singing as you ride over the hills ;).

Heerlijke omgeving, heel rustig, mooi huisje van buiten en van binnen. We zijn het eens met de vele pluspunten die alle voorgangers al hebben genoemd. Handig om te weten: er is een Nespresso koffiesysteem. De bakker in de buurt is fantastisch. Heel goed uit eten kun je naar believen o.a. in Durbuy. Aanbeveling: mountainbiken op een E-mountainbike die je in de buurt kunt huren: je gaat zingend de heuvels over ;).
