Located on top of a mountain Property, far away from civilization, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Pyrenees. In peace and quiet with only the birds and wild boar and deer as neighbors, you will stay in a spacious safari tent. Right next to the tent is the private chalet bathroom, equipped with shower, separate toilet. Your nature house consists of two separate bedrooms, a mezzanine with closet and sofa bed, this can serve as a 1-prs sofa bed, furthermore a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with gas stove kettle and toaster and fridge/freezer. In the colder months there is a gas stove and in the cooler months a fan. In the spacious garden there is a large garden table with parasol with BBQ and a fire pit to light a fire except July and August. The tent is located 200m from the main house. Ideal for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or want to go hiking or horseback riding or take a refreshing dip in the lake (15min).
Nature and surroundings
The Aude region has many historical sites to offer, from the extraordinary Cathar castles (Montsegur) to the citadel of Carcassone (40min). We are in a wooded area overlooking the mountains and at night no light pollution except the clear starry sky in complete silence. At 10 min drive you will find the charming village of Chalabre, where you will find all kinds of basic amenities from a supermarket, cafes, a restaurant, a pharmacy, a butcher and a bakery. Just a 15 min drive away you will come to the beautiful lake of Montbel. Here you can swim and do water sports like sailing. In the summer months there is a very nice hippy-like beach cafe at the lake where you can eat in the evenings and on the weekends there is usually music playing. A 20min drive takes you to the beautiful historic town of Mirepoix, Monday morning market. In the tent you will find an information folder about the area.

A hidden gem at the foot of the Pyrenees What a wonderful place! We stayed 2 1/ week in the luxury tent of Hester and Tijs and it was in one word fantastic. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The tent is furnished with care: stylish, comfortable and clean. A large bed with good mattress, fine outdoor kitchen, and a veranda and spacious garden with beautiful views. In the morning we woke up to birds singing and the soft rustle of trees, with the silhouette of the Pyrenees in the background. And in the evening we enjoyed starry skies like you rarely see in the Netherlands. What also makes this place special are Hester and Thijs themselves. Warm, hospitable and with an eye for detail. They know the area like the back of their hand and gave us great tips for walks, markets and hidden swimming spots nearby. The location is ideal: surrounded by nature, but nice villages and markets are never far away. For us it was the perfect mix of peace, comfort and adventure.

Wat een heerlijke plek! We verbleven 2 1/ week in de luxe tent van Hester en Tijs en het was in één woord fantastisch. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen voelden we ons welkom. De tent is met zorg ingericht: stijlvol, comfortabel en schoon. Een groot bed met goed matras, fijne buitenkeuken, en een veranda en ruime tuin met mooi uitzicht.
’s Ochtends werden we wakker van fluitende vogels en het zachte geritsel van bomen, met op de achtergrond het silhouet van de Pyreneeën. En ’s avonds genoten we van sterrenhemels zoals je ze in Nederland zelden ziet.
Wat deze plek ook bijzonder maakt, zijn Hester en Thijs zelf. Warm, gastvrij en met oog voor detail. Ze kennen de omgeving op hun duimpje en gaven ons geweldige tips voor wandelingen, markten en verborgen zwemplekjes in de buurt.
