Do you want to experience what it's like to sleep in an original yurt in the forest? Want to listen to crickets, wild boar, deer and owls at night? Sit in front of the warm wood stove after a long walk? Breathe culture in the numerous medieval villages nearby? Want to experience the magic of an ancient volcano? Come to this yurt paradise in Catalonia, Spain! It is an original Mongolian yurt that is simply but very tastefully decorated. Inside there is a kitchenette with a four-burner stove and oven, refrigerator, wood stove, running water a double bed (with possibility of extra beds), towels and bedding. Outside you will find a veranda overlooking forest and mountains and a herb garden. There is also an eco toilet and a shower building with hot shower. Please note! If you want to bring your pets, please send us an email first. Public transportation: Bus from Banyoles/Olot only on weekdays, book 1 day in advance.
Nature and surroundings
The yurt is located in the middle of nature on a farm with 70 hectares of forest and farmland next to the volcanic nature reserve with 38 inactive volcanoes in La Garrotxa, Catalonia, Spain. It is a fairytale mountain and forest landscape. In 1 hour you are in the Spanish Pyrenees or on the Mediterranean coast (the Costa Brava). Within walking distance (1 km) is the village of Mieres with a bakery, store and a restaurant/café. In half an hour you are in Olot or Banyoles with a beautiful lake. There are many medieval villages in the area such as Santa Pau (with famous waterfalls and volcanoes, see photos) and Besalu. The picturesque town of Girona ( Gerona ) is 40 minutes away with a train station. Furthermore, we are 1 hour from Figueres and 2 hours from Barcelona. There are nearby countless restaurants with authentic Catalan cuisine, hiking / biking trails, swimming rivers to find! Proceeds from the rental go towards setting up our regenerative farm.
