Nature house in Winterswijk Ratum

We unfortunately did not have a pleasant time in the cottage. We arrived late (of course this was entirely due to our own planning) and then we immediately noticed a very nasty, penetrating smell. At first we thought it was coming from outside and were very tired so we went to bed immediately. The next day it turned out that the smell was coming from the cottage itself and that it was related to the sewage system, which was clogged. When we informed the landlords they indicated that there was nothing they could do at that time and advised us to flush hot water down the toilet, etc. This we did but unfortunately did not help. Afterwards it turned out that the problem was in the municipal sewer system. This feedback was nice, but we did not feel very helped during our stay. We had chosen the cottage so we could take a bath, but since the bathtub drain was bubbling we didn't dare. The wood stove was top notch.

Wij hebben helaas geen fijne tijd gehad in het huisje. We kwamen pas laat aan (dat lag natuurlijk volledig aan onze eigen planning) en toen viel ons meteen een hele nare, indringende geur op. We dachten aanvankelijk dat het van buiten kwam en waren erg moe dus zijn meteen naar bed gegaan. De volgende dag bleek dat de geur uit het huisje zelf kwam en dat dit met de riolering te maken had, die verstopt was. Toen we de verhuurders op de hoogte brachten gaven ze aan op dat moment niets te kunnen doen en adviseerden ons heet water door de wc, etc. te spoelen. Dit hebben we gedaan maar dat hielp helaas niet. Achteraf bleek dat het probleem in het gemeentelijk riool zat. Deze terugkoppeling was fijn, maar we voelden ons niet erg geholpen tijdens ons verblijf. We hadden het huisje uitgekozen zodat we in bad konden, maar aangezien de afvoer van het bad borrelde durfden we dat niet aan.

De houtkachel was top.

This may be due to the season, but the cottage was not as sheltered as we expected. We could see other cottages from this cottage. The description states that it is in the middle of nature. We do not consider agricultural land to be in the middle of nature, but that may be our personal preference....

Dit ligt misschien aan het seizoen, maar het huisje was niet zo beschut als we hadden verwacht. Wij konden andere huisjes zien vanaf dit huisje. In de omschrijving staat dat het middenin de natuur ligt. Wij zien agrarische grond niet als middenin de natuur, maar dat kan onze persoonlijke voorkeur zijn...

Beautifully located, neat cottage everything super nicely arranged. Only reasonable nuisance of fireworks had. Furthermore, really a top location Super sweet also that there was already thought to the dogs

Mooi gelegen, net huisje alles super fijn geregeld. Alleen redelijk veel overlast van vuurwerk gehad. Verder echt een top locatie

A wonderful place to unwind. The wood stove completed our stay during the winter.

Een heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen. De houtkachel maakte ons verblijf tijdens de winter helemaal af.

Even though the cottage is in a park, we felt like we were the only ones in the wide area.

Ondanks dat het huisje zich op een park bevindt, hadden we het gevoel alsof we de enigen in de wijde omgeving waren.
