In the middle of the picturesque village of Paesens-Moddergat, in the far north at the Wadden Sea in Friesland, lies our cozy vacation home . This old fisherman's house, built at the end of the 18th century, has been completely renovated but fortunately has retained some characteristic features such as the traditional red color of the outside wall, the bed box and the wooden wall-with-table in the living room. In addition to the box bed, there are two bedrooms upstairs in this cottage under the rafters: One with a double bed, the other with two single beds. Comments from tenants: "It is a cozy house and above all complete, fully equipped. You immediately feel welcome in this house. Coffee, tea and chocolate milk are ready in the kitchen cupboard. As a cooking enthusiast, I miss nothing in the kitchen. Good wifi, TV with Chromecast As if you were staying with friends at home. The bikes and garden chairs are waiting for you. And what peace: You sleep like a (sea) rose here!"

You step out the door, walk 100 m and you are on the dike where you have a beautiful view of the Wadden Sea. Walking enthusiasts can walk straight through to the specially constructed walking pier in the sea. Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy themselves as there are endless cycling possibilities in the vicinity of Paesens-Moddergat. Also for mudflats you can do well here. There is a small but very nice fishing museum in Paesens-Moddergat. You can have an excellent lunch and drink at the Tea House: Yke-muoi kofje & tee drinkerij. We hope to have another catering establishment in the old village pub soon. There is some food for sale in the village and immediate area, for further shopping get on your bike or in the car. A brand new playground has recently been built around the corner: A paradise for the kids! Is there a beach? No, there isn't. But in 10 minutes by car you are at the recreation and nature area the Lauwersmeer.
