Nature house in Saint Aubin le Monial
Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
- 4 persons
- 2 bedrooms
- Pets allowed
This charming cottage sits on a small hill in the French countryside. Accessed by a private road and surrounded by two acres of its own grounds, this is a valhalla for epicureans and those seeking peace and quiet. On top of the hill you overlook the country and the church tower of Saint Aubin le Monial. Our house has been lovingly built and converted from ruins into a characteristic farmhouse, a so-called 'longère'. We are looking for guests who appreciate the tranquility of the countryside, love walking and cycling and can enjoy the special song of the oriole and the call of the hoopoe. The first floor of the house consists of a large kitchen, the heart of the house, followed by a cozy lounge with French doors and also a hallway with a bathroom. From the hall a staircase leads to the attic with a sleeping area in the open space and a bedroom to be closed off. The atmosphere in the house is a pleasant pleasant mix of old, authentic elements and timeless design.
Nature and surroundings
In the immediate vicinity there are several opportunities for hiking and cycling. The landscape is gently rolling with alternating meadows, bordered by characteristic hedges and extensive deciduous forests. Special medieval villages and towns in the area, such as Bourbon l'Archambault, Hérisson and Souvigny are well worth a visit. In our village, Saint Aubin le Monial, there is a hotel restaurant serving an excellent meal, menu 'ouvrier'. In addition, there are countless charming markets and flea markets from April to sometime in September. But under the oak tree, in the hammock reading a book or taking a nap is also nice. In short, this cottage on a hill is a wonderful place to spend your vacation!

Nature, peace & environment:We really enjoyed the cozy house with the large garden and vegetable garden.... It is like a little Paradise! The fox that came to greet you almost every early morning and the deer that we could breathlessly admire from the kitchen window.... Wonderful! the pretty little villages, the wonderful views during our long walks. Nice surprising museums visited, treasures scored on the many Brocantes and delicious food in various restaurants nearby. Not to mention the very sweet and kind Andette and Henk, the owners who put so much work and love into their beautiful house and let us and everyone else enjoy it. For us it was TOP! highly recommended for a wonderful stay! Danny and Manita from Maastricht
