This romantic, atmospheric, Frisian farmhouse offers everything you are looking for for a wonderful, peaceful vacation or long weekend. Beautiful unobstructed views of meadows and woods. The farmhouse was built around 1900 and has had several renovations, but never lost its authentic character. A completely new bathroom and outdoor area with hot tub was built in 2024. A cozy sleeping loft with 4 beds and two more bedrooms downstairs offers enough sleeping space for 2 families with children. The huge garden all around is fenced, with lots of grass, so smaller children or dogs cannot just run away. There is also no ditch or pond nearby. The view is beautiful all around, of woods and countryside. Good working WiFi, washer and dryer, floor heating in bathroom and kitchen.

You walk right into the woods and meadows here. Gaasterland has many forests, water and views. But there are also charming Frisian villages and towns nearby. In Oudemirdum or Balk are several restaurants, (fresh) stores and around the corner at the farmer you can buy fresh eggs or cheese. There are walnut-apple and pear trees on the property itself, so fresh picking is also allowed. You are not on a (commercial) park here, but really nice in the countryside in the middle of nature, with few tourists in sight. Roosmarie February 13, 2026 General rating:We found the drawback to this beautiful cottage was that two of the bedrooms were upstairs, 1 of which was only accessible by a room with a double bed. The stairs were awkward, two of us unfortunately could not get down or up properly. This in turn had the advantage that the beds were quickly divided.
Aan dit mooie huisje vonden wij het nadeel kleven dat twee van de slaapkamers boven waren, waarvan 1 alleen bereikbaar door een kamer met een twee persoonsbed. De trap was lastig, twee van ons konden er helaas niet goed af of op. Dat had dan weer als voordeel dat de bedden snel verdeeld waren.

Prachtig alleenstaand huis, aan alle kanten mooi uitzicht op de omheinde tuin. Daar genoot onze hond ook erg van. Omgeving is heel mooi en we hebben genoten van de rust. Ondanks de kou kon het huisje goed verwarmd worden door verwarming en houtkachel. Alleen op zolder werd het 's nachts erg koud. O.a. de keuken had alles dat we nodig hadden, badkamer is echt prachtig! Contact met eigenaars ook erg prettig.
