In eco-district Almere Oosterwold, my son and I live in our little paradise with our sheltered pigs, bucks, chickens, dogs and cat. In our garden are 2 Tiny houses for guests: this handmade Iglucraft and a Wrap House made of cardboard. Both houses have a private sauna, hot tub and terrace - which can be booked in addition! We fill the hot tub with fresh water and fill the boiler with bio-fuel. So you do not have to fire with wood!!! With 1 push of a button the water is heated sustainably. The thermostat then keeps the water at a wonderful temperature! The delicious smelling sauna of red cedar is electric and is linked to our 24 solar panels! This handmade nature house is the place for people who are not looking for a five-star hotel, but want to relax in comfort, read, cuddle animals, do slow-cooking and enjoy nature and wellness. The nature house is in Oosterwold, a special residential area where we residents do everything ourselves, from building the roads and walking paths, to using half of your living space for urban agriculture. The Tiny house reminds you of Lord of the Rings and stands in the garden next to our home, a Sustainer Home, in which I live with my son. The tiny house is connected to our 24 solar panels, with its own rainwater-to-potable water system, and water reuse. Our place is on the edge of the residential neighborhood on one side, and on the Forestry Commission's Cathedral Forest and our animal pasture on the other. The Iglucraft is in our garden, which borders the edge of the forest. So you do stay in "built-up" area (with very many particularly ecological homes), but walk right into the forest. Almere and Zeewolde have numerous forests and bicycle paths. Almere is even one of the greenest cities in the Netherlands! Therefore, we are also very proud to welcome this year's Floriade.
