Nature house in Cassagnoles

Our cottage is located in the attic of the main house with separate entrance. Eric and Mieke, the owners, have their own cottage next to the main house. The cottage is equipped with all modern comforts. We have tried to keep the authenticity of the house combined with contemporary furniture. Each room has its own shower room and there is a room with bunk beds for 3 children. In this children's room is the sauna. We are half an hour drive (Olonzac) from large stores, bakery, butchers, pharmacies, etc..., therefore a large refrigerator and freezer are provided. Since we live largely autonomously, this farm is partly self-sufficient. All kinds of products such as different kinds of vegetables, own meat products, bread, jam, eggs, etc.... are available. (depending on the season) If you don't feel like cooking, Eric provides tasty dishes and Mieke takes care of the delicious dessert. (at a small additional cost)

Our farm is on 56ha, 2 streams flow through our property. We have part meadow and part deciduous forest. At 560m altitude it cools down enough in the evening to sleep blissfully. The area lends itself to hiking and cycling. You can swim in the swimming pool or in the pools of the rivers. You can also enjoy our farm animals. The nearest village and neighbors are at 3km. Sights like Minerve (car free), Caunes, Homps (Canal de midi) are at a 20 min drive, Carcassonne or the coast are at about 1 hour drive. In July and August there is a local market on Sundays in our village where there is also a restaurant. A larger market takes place every Tuesday in the picturesque village of Olonzac. Surrounding wine estates are well worth a tasting. Ideal to escape the hectic life and be immersed in peace, quiet and oh so beautiful nature.
