Lovely quiet vacation home in the middle of nature. Characteristic, romantic and quiet vacation home for max. 4 persons. A simple, but cozy former old farmhouse with a beautiful view. Uniquely situated amidst the mountains and forests of the National Park 'Serra de Monchique', near the village of Alferce and 5 minutes from the picturesque mountain town of Monchique. It is surrounded by cork oak and eucalyptus forests, and from the terrace you can see the neighbors' citrus trees in the hamlet of Chapadinha. Ideal for peace seekers and hikers. Interior: spacious living room with sitting area and satellite TV, dining table, wood stove and open kitchen with 4 burner stove with oven, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Separate bathroom with bath and shower, sink, toilet and washing machine. 1 bedroom with double bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. There is also an electric heater, a gas heater and a fan. Bed linen and towels provided.
Nature and surroundings
There are numerous hiking possibilities right from the house. For example, walk along the old paved Moorish road or visit one of the hot springs nearby: the 'Fonte Santa'. Within 25 minutes by car you can reach the most famous beach on the south coast: Praia da Rocha. You can also drive a little further for the smaller, most beautiful beaches that the Algarve is famous for. Furthermore, it is only forty minutes from the much rougher, but generally quiet west coast. There are numerous excursions to undertake: a mining museum (15 min), the famous hot springs of Caldas de Monchique (10 min), the old Moorish fortified town of Silves, where you can visit the castle (25 min) The airport of Faro can be reached in just over an hour.
