If you’d still like to spend a day in the city, you can easily reach Leeuwarden, Groningen, or Zwolle. This nature house is situated in a rural and highly varied setting with a walking and cycling route starting right from the driveway. Nearby is the “De Deelen” lowland peat bog reserve (4 km). It’s ideal for walking along the boardwalks through the marshes. Nearby are the forests and golf courses of Beetsterzwaag and Oranjewoud, as well as the villages of Heerenveen and Gorredijk, which offer museums, restaurants, and all other amenities. Just a few kilometers away is a delightful authentic cheese farm in Tijnje for your daily organic needs.
